To build 4 new toilets
Sogobet Primary is a growing school about 25 km east of the city of Kericho (about 15 km from Ringa Primary School). It has a mixture of structures on site, from new stone to shabby, dark wooden structures. The government has built a stone administration block and four classrooms here, but two of the classrooms are already deteriorating badly. Another classroom started by the parents has remained unfinished for several years. In 2013, the government paid 10 teachers and parents hired two additional teachers plus two ECD teachers to work with 350 primary students and 50 preschoolers. The school has a hand-dug well. Currently, there are 191 boys and 176 girls being educated by 5 male teachers and 7 female teachers.
ABW first built three stone classrooms in 2013 to replace wooden and iron-sheet structures, which were temporarily moved to a new location and still used. In 2014, a block of two classrooms with offices was completed as a new preschool to replace the existing wooden structures with dirt floors. Eight toilets were also constructed.
• The government is in the process of bringing electricity to the school.
• The school has no computers whatsoever.
