ABW partners with Saskatchewan Abilities Council to help Juan Carlos

Juan Carlos is a 28 year old who attained a civil engineering degree three years ago. After working for about a year as an engineer, he had an accident where he received high voltage electric discharge causing burns and infections on his body, which later resulted in the loss of all four limbs. Juan Carlos comes from a humble family; his wife supported them all with a low salary while he recovered. Juan has been learning new ways to do necessary tasks, through the use of a special computer program. He can now supervise jobs of construction projects, which generates a small income for him and his family. A month ago, due to the help of another NGO, Juan received two prosthetics for his legs. He was on the search for two prosthetic arms but they are only available in his country for the overwhelming price of $48,000. A Better World was able to partner with Saskatchewan Abilities Council to purchase two new prosthetics for the price of $1,280 and donate them to the very deserving young man, Juan Carlos.
