Azalea has volunteered with A Better World since 2009 and has travelled twice to Kenya and seven times to Afghanistan. After graduating from Canadian University College with a BSc in Biology and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Alberta, she worked as a program consultant with the Public Health Agency of Canada and lived in Edmonton. After that, she moved to Iraq for 6 months as an ADRA Project Manager for Refugee Services. Upon returning from Iraq, Azalea was accepted and is currently a medical student in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary—a dream that she’s had for years. All through her travels and studies, she has been managing the 100 Classrooms Project, ensuring that accessibility to education for women is increased.

“I am passionate about bringing opportunity to girls in Afghanistan. A Better World is making it possible for that dream to be realized.”
