Debra has been doing teacher training on how to incorporate the Arts into academic curriculum. She showed the teachers how to analyze the face mathematically to paint a portrait. It was fun! Jolly, the headmistress, went with Debra to do home visits so that she could see where some of the students live. She struck a bargain with two teachers to start a tutoring program for the kids after school.
Students in the program receive jackets that Debra brought from Canada. It gets chilly at night here. Especially if you are sleeping on a mud floor!
