Eric’s Blog – January 14

We began our day with a visit to the bridge that A Better World built. People were walking through the river when it was low and the bridge has prevented many drowning deaths each year. The bridge is in good condition.

Our function today at the Kendu Bay Hospital was a review of the equipment needs and confirming that the equipment purchased last year was all installed and operational. The X-ray department was one area we inspected.

We also saw the lab equipment and visited with the lab technician.

Here we can be seen examining the surgical ward.

We were joined by Dr. Oteki, an orthopaedic surgeon who joined us for the day as we discussed the children’s surgery program.

We also visited the maternity ward where between 50 and 70 children are born each month
