Wheelchair Accessible Walkways

Gatimu Special Needs School

About the Project: Gatimu Special School for Intellectual and Physical Disabilities is a new partner school for A Better World, located in Ol-jororok, Kenya. The school provides education and care for 120 students with intellectual and physical disabilities. As a boarding school, it plays an important role in meeting both the educational and daily living needs of its students. These walkways will help them have an easier time moving around the campus.

About the Site:  The school is in need of several improvements to support the health, safety, and daily needs of its students. The proposed projects include building a new kitchen, constructing accessible toilets, and providing wheelchairs and other accessible devices. These improvements will help create a safer, more accessible environment for the students.
