Goodbye to a good friend

We were very saddened to receive the news that Charles Muraguri, a long-time friend of A Better World, passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday, August 6. Charles recently retired as a Project Manager from Male, Kenya.

Charles’s involvement with ABW is extensive—he was a driver and guide for over 2,000 volunteer travelers. He was the first guide/driver to meet Eric on his first trip to Kenya in 1999. Since then, Charles has been head-guide and driver for more than forty groups, as well as a project manager in various regions of Kenya for 15 years until his retirement in 2015.

Many of you have traveled with us and had the privilege to meet Charles, and many of you have visited his home to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Muraguri family. Charles even visited us in Canada for ABW’s 25th Anniversary. He will be missed by all of us and his friends and travelers from ABW.
