6 Toilets
Enkitoria Health Center
About the Project: In 2017, ABW expanded the Enkitoria Health Centre and added public latrines. After heavy rains and flooding in early 2024, the latrine pits eroded and the structure collapsed, leading to their condemnation. ABW is now responsible for installing durable septic latrines that will resist future flooding and erosion. The four new toilets will serve both patients and staff, reducing the use of the surrounding area for sanitation and eliminating the need for staff to return to their residences.
About the Site: The Oloolaimutia Health Centre, situated in the Sopa area of Masai Mara, provides services to a community of 15,000. The original mud-brick structure, built by the community in 1996, is now deteriorating. Operated by a local church and community group, the clinic can see up to 100 patients on a single market day. The center, which aims to expand its services, is currently staffed by clinical officer Juma Sampuerrap.
