Greenhouse

Gilgil Teachers School

About the Project: Gilgil Teachers school is located in Gilgil, Kenya. As of right now, there are just under 800 students that attend the school, consisting of poor and politically displaced families. By building this greenhouse, it will benefit the school for food, but also to teach agriculture.

About the Site: Located in the Gilgil township, the school serves one of the most vulnerable populations in Kenya. Many students come from the local slum, where households are often single-mother led and incomes are painfully low—under $2 per day for grueling work, or worse, survival through prostitution. Schools are overcrowded, and hunger remains the top reason for absenteeism.
