Muchorwe Comprehensive School

About the Project: In the past two years, A Better World has renovated five classrooms and an office, built a kitchen, and constructed a four-classroom ECD Centre for the school. However, urgent needs remain, especially regarding sanitation and the number of toilets. To address this, we plan to build twelve new toilets—six for boys and six for girls—replacing the current run-down facilities and better serving the large student population.

About the Site: Muchorwe Comprehensive School, formerly Muchorwe Primary, is located northwest of Nakuru near Molo. Founded in 1978, the school serves about 900 students with a staff of nearly 30, but its infrastructure is aging. When first visited by ABW, many of the 17 classrooms had leaking roofs and damaged floors, and the early childhood development program was housed in a semi-permanent steel structure with dirt floors. While the school has a deep well for community use, it lacks support for essential upgrades like a kitchen.
