Market Rental Kiosks
Ndanai Small Home
About the Project: The small home has already built two kiosk buildings to rent a total of six shops on roadside property it owns, to generate income for the program. Building three additional kiosks would generate enough income for the small home to nearly eliminate the monthly support provided by ABW to cover expenses and staff stipends. A fourth would improve their financial situation to a point where the small home could grow its income to provide for maintenance and future small projects.
About the Site: Ndanai Small Home, beside Ndanai Primary School in Kericho, was founded in 1986, closed due to funding, and reopened in 2003 under Justus Tanui. It includes dorms, toilets, a kitchen, dining area, physiotherapy room, office, and a well. It houses 36 children, supported by two staff and two special education teachers. When ABW arrived, children ate at desks in dorms. In 2007, we built a kitchen, dining area, larger dorms, and office space. The old dorm became a therapy room. We added a well, drainage, sidewalks, and a basketball court. Many children have received ABW-funded surgeries.
