Ole Polos School

About the Project: Amid a high concentration of rural slums, Ole Polos Comprehensive School has few modern classrooms and still relies on its original mud buildings, which are falling apart. Adding four new primary classrooms will provide students and teachers with a more comfortable and appropriate learning environment. These will protect classes from the elements, reduce overcrowding, and include bright windows and improved chalkboards. Additionally, new cement floors will enhance cleanliness, while lockable doors will secure teaching materials and supplies.

About the Site: Ole Polos is located in Kambi Muhindi village in the Gilgil subcounty, where ABW has developed several sites. Founded in 2011 with four mud classrooms, the school now serves nearly 650 students, including those in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and primary levels. It has few modern classrooms and still relies on the original mud buildings, which are deteriorating. The administrative offices are housed in an iron-sheet building. There is an immediate need for four primary classrooms and two ECD classrooms.
