1 New Science Lab
Koige Primary School
About the Project: Koige Primary School is located in Nakuru, Kenya. The community faces severe poverty, with very limited funding available for maintenance. The school is currently in need of a new laboratory to provide students with a better learning environment. Additionally, water harvesting systems are required to collect and store water for the school.
About the Site: Koige Primary School was established in 1983. ABW learned of the school when head teacher John Bariwot transferred there, as he had worked with ABW at schools he had led previously. At the time, Koige had just added more than 100 students from another school that had closed, and the student population was nearly 750. The school required many improvements, including new classrooms, additional toilets, a reliable water supply, and a new kitchen.
