Parents, teachers, and community members are very excited about the six new toilets planned for Koige Primary School. A total of 184 parents attended the groundbreaking ceremony and dug the first 5 feet for the project to begin. Their investment and involvement shows how grateful they are to have toilets at school for their children.
During his chairmanship of A Better World, he helped it grow and travelled to many countries to work with A Better World, especially in crises. He was in Kenya during the post-election violence, Louisiana during Katrina and Sri Lanka after the Tsunami. He was a voice of reason, compassion and generosity. He will be remembered for his love for children and belief in providing young people with a bright future.
Community and parent involvement is an essential aspect of A Better World projects. When the community invests with ABW, they take ownership of the projects and help ensure project sustainability. It also helps to develop close relationships in the community. ABW is pleased to see the community get involved with the Manyatta Secondary School project in Kenya as they help paint, remove materials, and clean around the work site.
