Thanks to another successful fundraising golf tournament by Marcel Paquin of Sierra Flooring Ltd., the Manyatta Primary School renovation project is underway. The school, which needed renovation of seven classrooms last year but was unable to be funded, was the target for this year’s Sierra golf tournament. This was the first year back for the fundraising event since before the pandemic, and it raised just over $43,000: a hole-in-one for the renovation budget.
Paquin, of Edmonton, has been supporting ABW since 2014 via the golf tournament, through his business, and personally. ABW has received more than $300,000 in donations in that time, and built or renovated numerous classrooms. Paquin and his wife, Paulette Richter, have travelled to Kenya with ABW twice to visit projects and see the results of their contributions. We are extremely grateful for the commitment Marcel has made to ABW.
