About the Project
Enkitoria Health Centre was expanded by ABW in 2017 and public latrines were added at the same time. However, after heavy rains and flooding of early 2024, the pits under the latrines have eroded and the structure has been falling backwards, leading to a condemnation of the facilities. It is now ABW’s responsibility to replace the latrines with septic latrines that will last much longer and not be subject to flooding and erosion. The four toilets will provide facilities for the public patients and for the staff at the clinic. This will discourage people from using the surrounding landscape and eliminate the necessity of staff needing to return to the staff residence.
