Needs Funding : KENDU BAY CLUBFOOT CLINIC

About the Project

Kenya: ABW’s new partnership with Clubfoot Care for Kenya has provided an exciting new opportunity that is changing how we help children with clubfoot.

Since our very first project, in Kendu Bay, ABW has been helping treat clubfoot in African communities by funding surgeries followed by significant physiotherapy. Now, at the new Kendu Bay Clubfoot Clinic, that treatment will become obsolete. The Ponseti method allows children up to age three to be treated with castings and braces, slowly recovering full and healthy use of the affected leg.

Clubfoot Care for Kenya and ABW have already been training staff at Kendu Adventist Hospital in the Ponseti method. Our new rehabilitation building at Kendu Bay will house the program for regional children. We are also able to initiate the treatment for children in the Maasai Mara at Narok Hospital, but must refer them a significant distance for follow-ups, so we will explore extending the service in Narok next year.
