About the Site
Founded in 1978, Kiprengwe Primary was the second-largest school in the district in 2013 with 643 primary students and 132 preschoolers. Although the primary school has sixteen classrooms, four are incomplete and others are used for storage and staff. The school also has a hand-dug, 25-foot well. The road to the school features an extremely steep hill that makes access difficult. The school grows maize, beans, and vegetables for a feeding program for students in Grades 4 to 8 who can’t go home for lunch. Younger students end their school day at lunchtime. Students travel up to seven km each way to attend.
