KENYA: MURINDU HIGHWAY PRIMARY SCHOOL

About the School

Murindu Primary is a busy school in the Gilgil Sub-county of Nakuru County, with more than 1400 students enrolled from preschool to Grade 8. The school is registered, with 26 school teachers and 2 early childhood development teachers, and has been supported locally, with several stone classrooms already built and in fairly good repair. However, many of the classes – especially middle school – are being taught in dirt-floor buildings made from metal sheets or fencing boards.

The school is well established and has several stone classrooms.

However, many of the classrooms in use are old and dilapidated.

Middle school students are often required to learn in the old classrooms.
