KENYA: OLJORAI COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL

About the Site

Oljorai Comprehensive School is located in the Gilgil constituency, where ABW has already worked on several schools. It was started in 1989 in a donated cow shed from a former dairy farm. Currently there are a few new buildings, but several structures are mud or iron-sheet. Poor conditions at this school cannot help but affect the work of both teachers and students. With more than 850 students (including Early Childhood Development), the school is desperately short of acceptable classrooms and other school buildings. KCPE results have been sliding in the past four years, and will hopefully improve with new facilities.
