About the Project
Though ABW has done significant work at Mahua in the past, there still remain a couple of needs at this site, including water. It has been brought to our attention that the school relies heavily on rainwater collection for all its water needs. This source of water can prove unstable and inconsistent, so a more sustainable solution would be a shallow well. This will provide the school and surrounding community with an affordable and more reliable source of clean water. We plan to drill a shallow well on school property, complete with a solar pump and holding tank to at least provide the school, with a more consistent source of hydration and cleanliness. This may even be a large enough source to assist others in the community as well.
