RWANDA: NYAGATARE: UMUTARA DEAF SCHOOL

About the School

The Umutara Deaf School, as its name suggests, is noteworthy for its special emphasis on educating students who are deaf. The school was founded in 2005 by a local pastor and now has over 100 students, many of whom live in the school dormitory. When A Better World first began partnering with the Umutara Deaf School, its infrastructure was severely lacking and much of its infrastructure was in need of repair or complete rebuilding.
