About the Project
Located just outside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Sekenani Primary School serves a large community. A Better World has had the opportunity to partner with this school to build new toilets for the teachers and students, 4 classrooms, 3 Early Childhood Development (ECD) classrooms, and a Teacher Housing Block.
With an average of 49-100 students per class, Sekenani’s classrooms far exceed the optimum number of students per class, which is 35. Additionally, the number of students who register each year is increasing. Therefore, A Better World is supporting the school by adding an additional 6 new classrooms with new desks to alleviate the overcrowding. Water harvesting will also be installed, which will provide additional water sources for the school.
