We arrived in Lamu island today where we have two projects. There has been several unfortunate happenings in the main land across Lamu island. Once known for its peace and tranquility, today many tourists are reluctant to come after the killing of 80 people in the past few days. We were concerned too but decided that the risks are no greater than some of the other places we have been. It is very peaceful and quiet and all I can hear is the water splashing on the beach. There is no better way to experience the peace than to sail on a dhow on the Indian Ocean. With me are some children that I have known since they were a year old. Keith is having a nap on the boat.
Keith enjoying peaceful sailing. When the waves hit he just about rolled into the water.
