Saturday, November 8, 2014 – 290 patients seen at the clinic today

There were two clinics today.  One team went back to the Segera Mission and another to the Matanya clinic.  This is a new clinic for ABW. We had installed electric power to the site last year.

We had both our medical and non-medical volunteers hard at work.

There were other things happening besides the medical trip.

Cindy and Richard Wright are doing home visits and carrying some groceries to some friends in the Male village. Co-workers of Richard had sent a sum of money to help a family.

Christina Williams and Elise Nelson take soil sample from Charles’ garden

Christina presents a weather station to the science students at Malik Girls school. This will also help us understand the best plants for this school.

Table Banking has been going on for 10 years in the Male area.  We attended their meeting to see how the system works.  A group of women invest and give out loans to help start businesses. It was very impressive.

Rick our project manager is asking for an increase in his pay. I am offering to double it $0x2

Unfortunately, Rick has departed to Canada.  He has been here for over 3 weeks and helped get the medical team off to a great start.
