Sunday, September 10, 2017 – Day off to enjoy the Mara

Today was a day off from project work. We spent the whole day looking for animals. We saw elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles to name a few.

This group went on a balloon safari. They really enjoyed it.

This group was waiting for zebras and giraffes to cross the road.

We had a bush lunch to celebrate Dr. Ken Hubbard’s 65th birthday.

Complete with wonderful chefs and waiters in the bush.

The celebrations continued as we celebrated Julie’s birthday at sundown with great tasting appetizers and drinks with a campfire and storytelling.

Dr. Larry Herr, an Archaeologist, shares his knowledge of the Rift Valley.

Tomorrow we will begin our project visits in the Mara.
