Mizai Primary School

About the Project: Due to limited infrastructure and a shortage of usable classrooms, the average class size has risen to approximately 50 students per classroom. They are in need of two new classrooms to help with the overcrowding, and to be a better structure than their previous classrooms. They are also in need of 16 new toilets for their students and staff.

About the Site: Mizai Primary School, located in the Lushoto District of Tanzania, was established in 1974 through the efforts of the local community. Today, the school serves students from four surrounding villages. The school currently enrolls 829 students, supported by just 13 teachers. Due to limited infrastructure and a shortage of usable classrooms, the average class size has risen to approximately 50 students per classroom.
