Thursday, June 22, 2017 – Visiting Aga Khan University

We started our first full day in Tanzania by visiting the future site of the Aga Khan University in Arusha. We were here to meet some Canadians involved in the university’s construction who are connected with friends of ABW in Edmonton. The Aga Khan University and Aga Khan Foundation are partnered in community outreach services to the people of Arusha. We enjoyed learning about what specific projects the AKU offers the community. The visit was enlightening as to how the Aga Khan Foundation works towards sustainable development for an entire country.

Our group had a great tour of their 3200 acre property where the University will be built. Latiff and Murad our Aga Kahn site managers were our hosts.

After wrapping up our visit, we began the long drive to Korugue where we will be visiting ABW project sites tomorrow.
