Thursday, November 1, 2018 – A school entirely built by local villagers

“We just couldn’t wait for the government to build us a school,” said a village elder. “We needed to take action as our children needed to be in school.  The government has placed teachers and we are thankful for that.”

This is the spirit that A Better World likes to see when helping communities. This school will need more classrooms soon as the enrollment is increasing! Most of the families in this area are small-scale farmers and believe that education is the key to changes in their community. Leaders in the community of the Mbaghai Secondary School came to explain their situation.

This science lab is in its 6th year of construction as the parents are able to do only a little each year.

The parents are doing their part by building the foundation and buying stones

This is the kitchen for the feeding program at the school.  The parents have come together to feed all 178 children a hot lunch.

The medical team continued their work at the hospital by examining babies delivered on the previous day and their mothers.
