We left this morning at 7:30 AM for our long drive to the Mara. Bad roads and rain greeted our entry into this beautiful part of Kenya. In spite of these conditions, we managed to get an afternoon game drive and a great campfire overlooking the Mara plains with a local guitarist sharing beautiful music with us.
On the way during stops, we also arranged meetings with our local partners. Peter and Kathy Lacey have provided healthcare facilities in the Mara. Peter is dialoguing with John Sankok, Director of one of our facilities.

By sundown, we were up on a hill and began a pre-party for Gord Bontje’s 60th Birthday. His lifelong friends Peter Lacey and Dale Russell are here to celebrate.
A nice evening for all.
Last night we also had a celebration for Rick Wiebe for his 60th. His son and family are here to celebrate with him. His birthday cake said 70 years and his grandchildren composed a poem for Meze Rick meaning old man Rick.
Another long day ahead of us tomorrow.
