Tuesday, October 25, 2016 – Visit with doctors to the Umutara School for children with hearing impairment

This centre originally discovered by Dave Mackie and has had an unbelievable transformation.

It is always exciting to see the progress at Umutara. This time, we had three doctors on hand to examine some children that needed extra help.

Dr. Prieur, Pediatric Neurologist and Drs. Wayne Church and Paulette Comeau helping some of the deaf children:

Thanks to Tessa’s family and friends who supported this basketball court. Tessa was 18 years old when she died of cancer and this is the 2nd basketball court in her memory. She was a basketball player.

The vocational school funded by Georgia Knight is functioning well and training in welding has started:

Many of the buildings were upgraded by Gord and Kathy Bontje as anchor donors. Many partners came on board: The Lacombe Rotary, the Family of Dave Mackie, Sunshine Hills School, Rosedale Valley Strings and others.
